Exclusivo Mezcla vs Mr. Sandman Specs
Blanket Weight
The weight difference is the most significant factor in this comparison. Mr. Sandman offers a 20-pound weighted blanket designed for deep pressure stimulation. This heavy weight targets adults weighing 190 to 240 pounds, providing a calming embrace to reduce restlessness. In contrast, Exclusivo Mezcla is a lightweight fleece throw weighing just 3.2 pounds. It provides gentle warmth without the sensation of being held down. If you seek therapeutic pressure, Mr. Sandman is the clear choice. For light coverage, Exclusivo Mezcla is superior.
Fill Material
Fill material determines how the blanket behaves and feels. Mr. Sandman uses glass beads as its filling. These beads are evenly distributed in a multi-layered structure to prevent leakage and ensure consistent weight across the 60 by 80-inch surface. Exclusivo Mezcla does not use beads or heavy fillers. It is made entirely from flannel fleece, which provides softness and warmth through fabric density rather than added mass. The glass beads offer a distinct sensory experience, while the fleece offers a traditional, airy warmth.
Dimensions
Size specifications vary significantly between these two products. Mr. Sandman’s Queen size measures 60 by 80 inches, which is the standard dimension for a Queen bed. This size is designed to cover the mattress properly. Exclusivo Mezcla’s Queen size measures 90 by 90 inches. This is a larger, square format that provides more coverage for lounging on couches or for taller individuals. The 90-inch length offers extra drape. If you need a standard bed fit, Mr. Sandman is the correct choice. For maximum coverage, Exclusivo Mezcla wins.
Target Audience
Each brand targets a specific user group based on their design. Mr. Sandman explicitly targets adults. Its 20-pound weight and 10% body weight recommendation are intended for grown-ups seeking sleep aid or anxiety relief. Exclusivo Mezcla targets all ages. Its lightweight 3.2-pound design is safe and comfortable for children, teens, and adults alike. It is also noted as pet-friendly. If you are buying for a child or a pet, Exclusivo Mezcla is the only viable option here.
Material Texture
The touch and feel of the outer fabric differ greatly. Mr. Sandman features a reversible design with one side embossed with dots for unique texture and the other side smooth. It is made for year-round comfort and sensitive skin. Exclusivo Mezcla is made from premium flannel fleece with a velvety, ultra-soft touch on both sides. It has an anti-static finish to reduce cling. Mr. Sandman offers textural variety, while Exclusivo Mezcla offers consistent, plush softness throughout.
